Bungeee! (1I #10)

Today, August 31 2013 I attended the fair which took place in the residence life quad. I went on the bungee trampoline and played many of the small carnival games. It was a good time for friends to hang out and have a good time. I had a snow cone that was a bit too solid but all in all it was tasty and refreshing.

The bungee jumping was fun but very exhausting and actually hurt because the safety straps were too tight. I did 10 back-flips in a row (one per jump) and even though it was fun, it did make me a bit dizzy. All in all it was a good time and I would give it 7 out of 10 stars.

My Style (1B)

As you could imagine there are many different styles to blogging, and the style reflects the bloggers’ personality. Some are mostly text with very few pictures and links. These tend to be full of information but not always the most entertaining. Others have little text but a lot of links and pictures. These are more exciting to read but tend to be less instructive.
Aside from the style of the posts the content and writing technique varied as well. Some were advertising on how to start a small business and others were just their own personal ramblings about random subjects. Personally I like a good balance of a few pictures with the majority of the blog being text, this way when you read you get a lot of information but at the same time it isn't a drag to read. However I also understand that the number of words isn't as important as the quality. People can write pages of vague meaningless text and get no point across, while someone else could write a few sentences and make a great statement.

To me a blog is all about information, if a blog lacks information it’s useless because even one that lacks pictures can still be successful. My goal as a blogger is to make a blog that is both very informative and decently interesting to read. I think a good balance for this would be one picture per major topic in each blog entry. For example in my entry entitled LOUD! I had two pictures because I had two major topics. One was relating to the fact I ask a lot of questions and need a lot of answers, and the other was in relation to the vocabulary from my chemistry class. I think if there isn't a balance of text and pictures the blog will either lack information or be so dull it’s never read.

LOUD! (1V) Inquiry

I have always been a loud person. At home my brothers are always talking about how I’m “yelling” all the time (even though I’m not). I guess it comes from my desire to be heard, and on top of that answered. I've always been the person to ask questions, whether it’s in a class at home or even just a personal question to myself. Generally they are good relevant questions to whatever the discussion at hand is about. But sometimes they can get silly, even meaningless such as “why is it that in kindergarten your desks are actually whole tables and in college you have this crappy notebook-size thing to write on?” (Me, Said in my social issues class) I guess the answer is I have an instinctively inquisitive mind. I’m always the one to raise my hand because I have some need to be answered. To me inquiry is getting answers to any and all questions thought up of.

In my chemistry class we went over a few terms we will need to know for the class.

Theory- A tested explanation of the behavior of nature.
This relates to the course because chemistry is the interaction of matter in the universe. And in order to understand these interactions we need to test hypotheses.

Chemical change- The breaking and/or formation of bonds through the exchange of electrons.

This is important because it is the majority of what the course is about. Even if we don’t see it everything around us is undergoing chemical changes from trees using photosynthesis to cars burning fuels.

Dreams V.S. Reality (1A)

When we are young we are told we can do or be anything, that if we wish to have a certain job or be a certain way it will come true. However as we grow up we begin to realize that the world isn't that easy, that life includes more than a dream.

This isn't a sudden realization people make, it’s a slow process. When we are in middle school we realize that there is some work to do along the path to a dream. When high school rolls around we are told it is vital to our dreams to do well throughout it, so we try hard and get good grades because we have our dream to fulfill. Then college hits, and we realize that one dream isn't good enough. We need a dream for every aspect of life. Life isn't just about a job; it’s about friends, personality, respect and much more.

In my opinion college is a time to finalize the majority of life’s goals, especially those specified above. In college I hope to not only learn all the necessary skills of my dream job but to also create a band of close friends, develop the final aspects of my personality, and most of all become a respected member of society. I will get the education needed to fulfill my career aspirations, to make friends at many of the social opportunities, and most of all I plan to find who I am and will be for the rest of my life. New dreams arise as life goes on and college isn't the “end all be all” of the world, but for those of us who choose the college path it is an important time in our life.

There are many questions in life but the most important is who you are and who you will be. Because if you do not know who you are, then what do u have? Everyone finds themselves in different ways. How will you?
